About the Event

Come join the Cuvilly crew and do some good! We are working on removing invasive plants surrounding our woodland nature trail. Cuvilly Arts and Earth Center is working towards increasing biodiversity and creating a refuge for our beloved pollinators. One step in this process is removing non-native and invasive species to allow room for our native plants to grow and thrive. We will provide an overview of what species we are targeting, and how to identify them. This is a great opportunity to learn about invasive species, the threats they pose, and how to keep them under control!

What to bring

Some tools will be provided; however, we strongly encourage you to bring your own loppers and hand pruners if you own them. Bring gloves, water, snacks, and comfortable clothing that can get dirty! We recommend wearing long pants, or boots with tall socks just in case there is any poison ivy off the trail.

Youth Instructions

Volunteers under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. We will be using cutting tools such as hand saws, loppers, and hand pruners so we want to ensure that these tools can be used safely. We would also like participants to be able to identify poison ivy.
