About the Event

Are you curious about the different plants, wildlife, insects, and other species that live in and around the pond? Join the Town of Hancock, Norway Pond Commission and the Harris Center for Conservation Education to explore alongside experts to identify and learn about the species that live around Norway Pond!

A BioBlitz is a one-day nature scavenger hunt where people explore alongside scientists and field experts to find as many different plants, wildlife, insects, fungi, and other species on a property as possible. Meet experts, learn iNaturalist, improve your naturalist skills and help the town of Hancock learn about Norway Pond! No experience necessary.

What to bring

Water bottle, long sleeves/pants for bug protection, hat and/or sunscreen, binoculars if you have them, and sturdy footwear. Bring your phone/tablet with iNaturalist app installed (not required). We’ll provide water and snacks. If you plan to join us for the whole day, bring your lunch.
