About the Event

Come help count and measure baby oysters as part of an oyster reef restoration project! We have several small cages filled with oyster shells that have oyster spat (baby oysters) attached to them. These oysters will be put out on a restoration site in the Fall! We need your help to count and measure these baby oysters (spat), so we know how many we have in each cage and their sizes. Meet at the Jackson Estuarine Lab!

What to bring

We will be working at picnic tables, be sure to dress accordingly, bring sunscreen and water. We’ll supply all the spat counting materials!

Youth Instructions

Youth under 18 are welcome to join if accompanied by an adult
