About the Event

Join YLT staff in pulling Japanese Stiltgrass from areas adjacent to the Red Oak Trail at Fuller Forest Preserve. Stiltgrass is a relatively new invasive plant in Maine. Because it’s still in the early stages of establishment, we have a much better chance of managing it successfully compared to some of the more widespread invasive species in the state. If time allows, we will be widening the corridor of the trail where it has been close in anticipation of opening the trail back up later this fall. Tools and materials will be provided.

What to bring

Participants should come prepared wearing work gloves, closed toed shoes, long sleeves and pants, and shoes suitable for hiking. Bring water and layers as needed.

Youth Instructions

Youth volunteers are welcomed!
