About the Event

On our Lubberland Creek Preserve, there is an artificial rock pile in a tidal creek within the salt marsh which is limiting fish and saltwater movement. In order to improve the health of the marsh, we will be removing a layer of these rocks by hand to allow the creek to move more freely. This is a sensitive ecological site, so we are going about this manually and gradually (over several years), to limit erosion and sediment destabilization. Come lend us your muscle power on October 19th to help us set up, remove small rocks from the stream by hand, and wheelbarrow them to shore!

What to bring

Please bring rubber boots or waders, clothes you don't mind getting wet and muddy, sun and bug protection, and water. We'll provide work gloves, wheelbarrows, and snacks.
