About the Event
Curious about what foresters take into consideration to keep our forests healthy? Join Dan Stepanauskas on a walk in the woods to discuss a range of forestry topics:
- Wildlife habitats, pollinators, birds of prey, and predator populations.
- The soil’s influence on forest ecology.
- The threats of climate change and invasive species.
- How forest species will migrate northward.
- How a forester can use assisted migration to hasten natural selection.
- How to determine which trees to grow where in the forest.
We will spend a large portion of the workshop walking along woodland terrain. Directions to the event will be sent to registered participants.
What to bring
Long pants, long sleeves, boots, and natural bug spray are recommended.
