About the Event
Join us in harvesting native dune vegetation to restore fragile habitat in Hampton, NH! Dunes are an important asset to our coastline. They provide habitat for wildlife, protect our communities from flooding, sea level rise, and coastal erosion to name a few.
On this first of two workdays (May 5), we will meet at Hampton Beach State Park, learn about dunes and the Common Garden of native dune Plants, and then harvest from the Common Garden. These plants will be used to restore dunes during a planting workday scheduled for the next day (May 6), at Plaice Cove in Hampton, NH (sign up separately).
Come learn about dunes, get sandy, and have fun!
What to bring
Water, all planting tools, and materials will be provided. Please dress for the weather.
