About the Event

Join Bolton’s Trail Committee, Conservation Commission, Conservation Trust and other community members as we care for our property! Bowers Springs Conservation Area, needs your help! This summer has resulted in an increase in the amount of bittersweet, poison ivy and multiflora rose taking over trails and encroaching into meadows. This work party has been initiated to address the invasive problem at Bowers, but there will be several other tasks on the work list for these dates. This is one of Bolton’s most heavily used properties and has certainly felt the impact over the years. If you are a frequent visitor, a community member or someone just looking for a great volunteer opportunity this is the job for you! Come join us! The property has a wonderful beaver population, two ponds, a perennial stream, and fields throughout.

What to bring

Recommended Gear: Participants should dress appropriately; long pants, insect repellent, hat gloves, long sleeves, and appropriate footwear. We encourage participants to bring their own tools although there will be some available: gloves, metal rakes, hand pruners, shovels, loppers, weed-whacker and handsaws. We encourage participants to bring water. Pet Policy: For this event we encourage you to leave your canine companions at home as there may be hazards to them such as chainsaws, brush hogs etc.

Youth Instructions

Volunteers of all ages and skills sets are welcome! Any participant under the age of 18 must have an adult accompany them.
