About the Event

For the third year, the Granite State Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society returns to Stevens Brook Orchard in the White Mountains National Forest. The WMNF has entrusted our chapter with nurturing this precious habitat!

In this project, we’ll reset the border by cutting trees and shrubs that have invaded the orchard, prune apple trees to increase fruit production, and remove some fallen trees. When you help preserve this abandoned orchard, you provide fruit, browse, and nectar to a variety of wildlife. You also help preserve the legacy of the hearty people who planted and tended the orchard long ago.

The location listed if for the Wentworth Elementary School. The exact location for the event will be shared with volunteers who sign up.
