About the Event

Volunteer for NH Audubon at a Celebration of World Migratory Bird Day at the McLane Center in Concord, NH on May 11 from 9am-1pm. Volunteers will help families learn about birds through a number of guided bird centered stations. Children can earn a Junior Birder Sticker for completing the activities. No prior experience needed but an interest in birds and being comfortable explaining activity directions to parents and children is helpful.

Directions will be provided at each station and volunteers will be prepped ahead of time about how to run their station. Stations include What's a bird and Bird Group Sort; Using binoculars and Bird Search; Migration game; Mock bird banding; Make-n-take bird feeders; Song map; and birding with a biologist.

What to bring

Water, comfortable shoes and clothes for outdoors, sun hat, sunscreen, and a lunch.

Youth Instructions

Youth volunteers will be paired with their parent and must be 13 years or older.
