About the Event

At Beaver Pond Conservation Area, volunteers will help clear the forest understory of glossy buckthorn in an effort to improve the habitat for existing native species. Volunteers will learn how to identify and manage invasive plants. Management efforts will be performed by hand or with hand tools. This area has been the site of numerous volunteer efforts over the past few years and the progress is noticeable.

What to bring

Volunteers should come prepared to perform manual labor for approximately two hours and should dress appropriately for work outdoors. Please bring your own water, snacks, and whatever else you need to work safely and comfortably. Participants may bring their own gloves and hand tools if so desired, but these items will be provided.
