About the Event

Get outside and help us find nature in your neighborhood, favorite park, or your own backyard with the 2026 City Nature Challenge! This annual event encourages people from all over the world to explore and document wildlife in their community from April 24-27. Join us April 25th from 11:30-12:30 at the Willand Pond trailhead for a guided walk with UNH Extension, Wild Birds Unlimited, and the City of Dover. During the walk, guides will point out and ID all the various plants and wildlife for participants to add as observations to iNaturalist. These observations will be tracked for Strafford County, NH. The Willand Pond trail is a 2-mile trail out and back. We ask that participants arrive about 15 min before the walk. So let's get outside together and see all the wonderful nature that can be found!

New to iNaturalist or looking for a refresher? Check out these resources before the event with how-to's for creating an account, making an observation, and other tips.
