About the Event
Glance at a vernal pool in October and you’ll see a dull, dry depression in the forest floor. Look again in spring and you’ll find a woodland pond, teeming with life. Dig in to the exquisite, ephemeral world of vernal pool ecology in this afternoon workshop with Brett Amy Thelen. We’ll start indoors with an illustrated lecture, then venture outside for hands-on exploration of a nearby vernal pool complex.
What to bring
Come prepared for a short walk through the woods. Rain or muckboots are optional.
Youth Instructions
Youth volunteers (5th grade and up) are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
