About the Event

In this experience you can learn how to identify local trees & plants. You will also learn about forest health threats in our region. The setting will be a gem of a trail, the Cole Pond Trail. We will start at the Bog Road, Cole Pond Trailhead in Enfield, New Hampshire. This experience will be a roughly 2 mile hike at a slower pace to facilitate discussion on how to identify native plants and trees in our New Hampshire forests. The event will take place in The Henry Laramie Wildlife Management Area which is owned by New Hampshire Fish and Game. Wildlife Management Areas are special properties and great care will be taken respect all the rules of this property. The group will be capped at a maximum capacity of nine people including the leader. The small group size will facilitate easier discussion and respect the rules of the Wildlife Management Area. This walk is completely free. There will be a discussion of the rules before we head into the property.

What to bring

Water, hat, bug spray, sunscreen, snacks, proper clothes for the weather, and anything you need to be comfortable on a two-mile hike so long as it will not interfere with other people's ability to enjoy the experience; or be in violation of the rules of the Wildlife Management Area. There is no restroom at the trailhead so please plan accordingly, with a bathroom stop before meeting at the trailhead.
