About the Event

Chatham Trails Association (CTA) maintains 40 miles of hiking trails in the Evans Notch/Cold River Valley on the east side of the WMNF. This weekend we will perform basic maintenance (cleaning drainages, clearing brush and blowdowns). Crews will be out all-day Saturday and Sunday and a half day Monday. No experience necessary.

CTA provides tools, training and coaching. Arrive Friday afternoon after 2 p.m.; stay through Monday noon. Volunteers are welcome for all or part of the weekend.

CTA provides lodging and meals at the AMC Cold River Camp at no cost. Registration is required for lodging and meals. Register online at our website to request meals and lodging: chathamtrails.org.

What to bring

For camp: sleeping bag or linens and pillow, towel & toiletries, headlamp, personal gear and supplies for the weekend. For the trail: day pack, water bottle, and sturdy footwear, rain gear and clothing appropriate for the weather. Bring your favorite trail tools if you wish. CTA provides tools and training
