About the Event
Join Forest Society staff and professional foresters for a hiking tour of an active timber harvest on the Lamprey River Forest in Epping. Attendees will learn more about the history of the property, the planning that goes into a timber harvest, past harvest activity, forest health concerns, why certain trees are selected to cut, and how the forest will respond in the future.
Hosted by Forest Society Staff Foresters (Wendy Weisiger and Steve Junkin), Forest Society Senior Director of Education Dave Anderson, and Consulting Foresters from Moreno Forestry.
What to bring
Attendees should be prepared for the weather conditions and dress appropriately. Bring a snack or water and be prepared to carry it with you. Plan to be outside and away from your vehicle for the full tour.
