About the Event
Join us to help count baby oysters as part of an oyster reef restoration project! We have several small cages filled with oyster shells that have oyster spat (baby oysters) attached to them. These counts help contribute to the Oyster Conservationist Volunteer program. The oysters will spend the summer with participating volunteers for grow out and then be put out on a restoration site in the Fall! Before we can take them to their temporary homes, we need your help to count baby oysters (spat), so we know how many we have in each cage. Meet at the Jackson Estuarine Lab in Durham!
