About the Event
The Milne Nature Sanctuary is a 1-acre park on the shores of College Brook, Oyster River, and Mill Pond owned and managed by the Town of Durham. We are working to remove invasive plants and restore a healthy natural environment and provide a peaceful, quiet place for relaxation and renewal. Volunteers will help plant perennials around a memorial and native shrubs along the shore, rebuild a stone wall, and pull invasive plants.
What to bring
Wear long pants and sturdy shoes that can get dirty. Bring a water bottle and insect repellent. Not suitable for dogs. We will provide all necessary tools, work gloves, snacks, and water.
Youth Instructions
Youth volunteers 14 years or older are welcome.
