About the Event
These trails don't maintain themselves. Have you ever wanted to give it a try? Join Forest Society Staff and local Gap Mountain Land Steward, Hiel Lindquist, to go over the basics of trail maintenance on beautiful Gap Mountain. You'll learn how to identify trail structures and maintenance issues, and how to clean out New England's ubiquitous trail feature: the waterbar. Trail maintenance is a great way to make hiking more interesting, and the only way to ensure the places you love stay open and accessible for future generations. Space is limited so definitely sign up today!
What to bring
All tools and safety equipment provided. Just bring a backpack with lunch and water, and be prepared to get dirty! Closed-toe shoes and long pants required - Boots recommended! Although this is a basic maintenance workshop, and it is not suitable for dogs.
Youth Instructions
This event is not suitable for small children. Minors 16+ need a parental permission form, and minors 12-15 need parental accompaniment. Please use good judgement!
