About the Event
American chestnut trees growing healthy enough to flower and produce nuts are a very uncommon finding in New Hampshire. Come and help us harvest nut producing chestnut burs at this unique site where multiple American chestnut trees are currently thriving.

What to bring
Thick gloves or a couple of pair that can be doubled to handle the sharp burs. We will be hiking off trail in thick brushy uneven habitat, so long pants and sturdy hiking boots recommended. Also, giving the rise in insect related diseases, tick and mosquito protection is strongly encouraged. Lastly, drinking water to stay hydrated.
