About the Event
Want to plant some trees? Want to help out the Forest Society and spend the day (or two) in a beautiful outdoor location? We've got just the event for you! The Rocks is a 1,593 acre tree farm in Bethlehem, NH that is owned and managed by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests. The farm grows Christmas trees and produces maple syrup, and proceeds from both support the Forest Society's land conservation and stewardship work statewide. We are looking for volunteers to help plant a new crop of seedling xmas trees in early May.
This activity involves working in small groups (4-5 people) to hand-plant small trees in pre-drilled holes, and does involve kneeling/getting up and down routinely. The planting fields at the Rocks have beautiful views of the Presidential Range of the White Mountains to inspire while you work! Workday will run rain or shine 9:30 AM-3:30 PM with time for BYO lunch/breaks.
