About the Event

Join us on the Old Bridle Path for a day of giving back to a very beautiful and popular trail that is almost 200 years old! The 1st mile of the Old Bridle Path in Franconia Notch State Park Is being restored and relocated as a sustainable trail. This Series is funded by the World Trails Network - Americas. WTN is partnered with AMC for 6 Trail-Work days this summer. AMC/WTN staff will provide instruction and guidance on proper tool use and trail building techniques. The summer of 2024 had over 150 volunteers in 10 days of incredible effort and fun completing over 3000 ft for trail relocations and other work.

This summer’s work includes completing and opening the next 1000 ft of the OBP. Work will include excavating new trail surfaces, moving rocks to build staircases, drainage and trail surfacing, as well as revegetation.

Participants under 18 are welcome but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. If you sign up a child, please let us know their age. Parking is limited at the Old Bridle Path parking area, so a shuttle will be provided from the Cannon Aerial Tram parking lot.

Fitness level and/or past experience to sustain the activity at a moderate pace is required. Expect to be active up to 4-6 hours per day. Reasonable breaks in the action.
