About the Event

In this Volunteer Trailhead Outreach Program, we engage and share information with visitors at the Mt Major trailhead parking area under our pavilion during the months of April - November.

Highlights of this program include:

  • Engaging with people;
  • Talk about hiking;
  • Protect the environment;
  • & Sharing a positive message!

This information session is designed to provide the history and details about the program. We will also walk you through the training process which is a combination of online and in-person modules that take ~3 hours in total. We would love to add new volunteers to help coverage shifts at the trailhead. Join us to learn more about the program!

*Participation in this information session is NOT required to begin training. If you are interested in starting training, please reach out to VTOP@forestsociety.org.

What to bring

Curiosity and a smile :)

Youth Instructions

Volunteers under the age of 16 are welcome to attend this event, but to serve in the program would need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian while during a shift at the trailhead.
