About the Event

This year, community trails have seen increasing use. At this workshop, co-sponsored by the Lee Conservation Commission, you’ll gain skills to help keep existing trails in good shape, and learn to identify and fix problems on trails before they get worse. Participants will learn techniques for basic trail maintenance using UNH Extension’s “Trail Maintenance for Volunteers Stewardship Training Guide” (about this guide) and will receive a copy to take home. Participants will gain hands-on experience with using specialized trail tools, improving trail tread, understanding erosion control techniques, trail blazing equipment and skills, closing “rogue” trails and safety considerations. This workshop will be held rain or shine. The workshop fee will be waived for residents of Lee, NH as a result of sponsorship by Lee Conservation Commission.

Cost: $10 (Lee residents should contact Dawn Genes at 603-969-4919 or dawn.genes@comcast.net before registering to receive coupon code)

Space:  Limited to 12, pre-registration required.

Special COVID-19 Safety Precautions: Program will be limited to 12 participants, with social-distancing and masks required. Tools will be disinfected prior to and following the workshop. Participants will be required complete a simple online health screening before leaving home. We also recommend participants complete Extension's 12-minute COVID-19 Safety Training for Outdoor Volunteering online video safety training in advance of the workshop.
