About the Event

The Harris Center is helping Sigmund Winiecki with his Eagle Scout project to create an interpretive trail at the site of the former Elmwood Junction railroad crossing in Hancock. As part of this exciting project, Sigmund will be leading two workdays to clear trails: Sunday, July 21 and Sunday, July 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Elmwood Junction in Hancock, rain or shine. Volunteers are welcome to join the crew for one or both days, and for as much or as little time as they like.

Meet onsite at Elmwood Junction in Hancock. To get there, take Route 202 north from Peterborough for about 8.5 miles. Turn right on South Elmwood Road, then immediately turn left over the small wooden bridge.

What to bring

Bring workgloves, water, lunch, and your own loppers, saw, and/or hatchet (no chainsaws or other power tools, please).

Youth Instructions

Youth volunteers are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
