About the Event

Join the Squam Lakes Association staff on Oct. 25, from 8:30 am–5:00 pm, as we wrap up the SLA campus and island campsites for the season. It’s a great opportunity to boat out on the lake one last time and catch amazing views of the fall foliage before the winter months creep in. Plus, we’re providing a bagel breakfast with coffee and other treats! Throughout the day, we will rake campsites, bring in swimlines, dig out fire pits, clean island bathrooms, conduct maintenance on island trails, and remove docks.

After we meet and eat at the SLA building in the morning, we will go over the plan of action and break out into groups to cover each of these tasks. We recommend bringing PPE such as work gloves and eye protection, but the SLA will be providing tools and PPE as well. Also bring plenty of water, snacks, extra layers, hiking boots, sunscreen, and bug spray. This event will go on rain or shine, so please come prepared with rain gear. Children must be accompanied by an adult. For more information visit the SLA website (squamlakes.org) or contact the SLA directly (603-968-7336).

The Squam Lakes Association is dedicated to conserving for public benefit the natural beauty, peaceful character and resources of the watershed. In collaboration with local and state partners the SLA promotes the protection, careful use and shared enjoyment of the lakes, mountains, forests, open spaces and wildlife of the Squam Lakes Region.
