About the Event
Our spring volunteer workday is a fun, family-friendly day to help Graylag Nature Preserve clean up the trails and gardens after the long winter. Join us for the morning (9-12) or afternoon (1-3 pm), or if you have the time and energy, come at 9 and stay all day! Either way, be sure to be around for pizza lunch at noon.
We will likely have a crew out on the trails clearing debris, clipping branches, and re-marking blazes; others may be raking gardens or washing and inspecting the recreational equipment (kayaks & canoes, life jackets, etc.).
What to bring
Work gloves and water bottle. If you can, bring a favorite yard or garden tool (rake, clippers, loppers -- make sure to label with your name!), though we will have many here as well.
Youth Instructions
Youth volunteers are welcome with parent or guardian. High school students seeking community service hours are welcome as well, but should call/email ahead of time so we can send a parent release form.
