About the Event
Learn about maintaining trails, clean up one of Cape Ann's most beloved conserved spaces, and enjoy some local brews with Greenbelt! This project will focus on trail maintenance at Tompson St. Reservation. Volunteers will hike the trails with loppers, folding saws, and other hand tools to clear overhanging branches, clear lines of sight between trail blazes, remove tripping hazards, and perform other trail maintenance work as needed. We may also add wayfinding posts to one loop of the trail network.
Once we finish our project we'll hang out on the property, crack some brews, and enjoy some snacks and each other's company! Please bring your own loppers, folding saw, and gloves if you have them. If you do not, Greenbelt will provide all necessary equipment. Volunteers for this project must be comfortable working in the field. The project includes a challenging trail hike and there are no restrooms on site. Expect to hike 2-3 miles during our project. Final details including project area and parking will be confirmed by email the week of the project.
