About the Event

Learn to prune old and abandoned apple orchards as well as the one in your own backyard. Participants will learn about the origin of apple trees now found wild in New Hampshire, recommended best-practices for pruning apple trees, and the benefits to wildlife from improved trees for mast. Come for the indoor presentation with Q&A at the Gilman Library in Alton, followed by hands-on field practice at the nearby Jennings Forest in New Durham.

What to bring

Bring a notebook and comfy clothes for the indoor session, and boots and clothing for the ever-changing New England weather for the field portion of the workshop.

Youth Instructions

Youth are encouraged to attend the training! -Anyone under 18: parents/guardian must sign a minor waiver form -Anyone under 16 is required to have adult supervision
