About the Event

Please join the Portsmouth Conservation Commission and other volunteers at our first Earth Day Stewardship Event at Great Bog trail at the end of Heather Lane entrance. Great Bog is a 700-acre conserved area in Portsmouth, NH with beautiful trails through the woods, wetlands, fields and hills. These trails need some help. The trails have become overgrown with some invasive species and other vegetation.

Join us to learn about this special natural area, trim and pick up some branches and meet your Portsmouth neighbors who use the trail. Snacks and wild-flower seed packets to take home will be provided. Registration is not required, but feel free to let Kate Homet know if you are interested in joining us or need more information.

What to bring

Water, gloves, tall boots, pruning tools (i.e., loppers, hand pruners, or handsaws, etc.). We will also provide a limited amount of tools for those who need them.

Youth Instructions

Children six and up are welcome with parental supervision. They can pick-up and pile branches that are cut alongside their parents. Parents will have to watch that young children don’t go off on their own and get lost, or into the marsh.
