About the Event
Are you looking to improve your map and compass skills? Maybe you volunteer to monitor conservation easements or boundary lines, or maybe you just want to feel more comfortable walking off-trail in the woods! This FREE training will introduce you to basic map and compass skills. We’ll spend 2 hours indoors learning the basics before heading outside to put our new skills to the test. Perfect for conservation commissioners, land trust volunteers, private landowners, or others interested in navigating off-trail. This event is co-sponsored by The Green Mountain Conservation Group.
What to bring
If you have a compass of your own, please bring it, but we will have compasses available for those who need one. Please come prepared to spend a couple hours outdoors walking off-trail through variable terrain.
Youth Instructions
This training may be appropriate for youth volunteers. Please contact Emma Tutein for more information.
