About the Event
This Volunteer Community Work Day at Nooney Farm focuses on invasive plant education and the removal of buckthorn and bittersweet in the upland forest. Volunteers will hand-pull and use tools to uproot and cut small and large plants. Nooney Farm is a 30-acre property owned by Kittery Land Trust. It is home to Kittery Land Trust's newest hiking trail. It is a short easy trail overlooking a wetland and 7 acres of agricultural land. There is a porta-potty on site.
What to bring
Please bring hiking/work boots, water bottle, insect repellent work gloves, and hand tools such as loppers, hand clippers, or small saws. We have spare gloves and tools if needed.
Youth Instructions
Youth volunteers are welcome to attend all Community Work Days, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the event.
