About the Event

As part of National Trails Day and Limmerfest, volunteer to help maintain the Crawford Path Trail! We'll meet at 8:00AM on Sat., June 7 at the Ledge Brewing Parking Lot. Work with Bob White, Local Trail Builders, and USFS representative on the Crawford Path, which is America’s longest continuously maintained hiking trail. The stewardship of this 200-year-old Trail in the national forest is facilitated by several volunteer groups. We hope for a crew of 25 to 30 people to cover the 3 miles of the trail. The work will be primarily spring opening maintenance for drainage, clipping, tree removal, and generally opening the trail nicely for the summer season. RSVP's are requested through the Nature Groupie "sign up" option here. Meet at the Ledge Brewery or at the Crawford Path trailhead on Rt 302. We will return to Limmerfest at Ledge at 3:30-4:00. Work will be moderately challenging, so all participants should be prepared to work outside for the day. See below for what supplies to bring.

What to bring

Be prepared for a work day roughly 9-3. Bring: lunch, raingear and a warm layer, long pants and long sleeve light shirt, hiking boots pls (no trail runners!), bug repellant, water, snacks and a hardhat if you have one, work gloves. If you have a favorite trail tool for light to moderate digging and raking, feel free to bring it.
