About the Event

Join volunteers from the Harris Center for Conservation Education and Nelson Conservation Commission for a morning of pulling invasive barberry along the Bailey Brook Trail in Nelson! Many hands make light work — and, hopefully, more room for native plants to thrive! 9 to 11:30 a.m. on the Bailey Brook Trail, near the old Osborn home and barn site. Trailhead parking is on the south side of Old Stoddard Road in Nelson, 1.4 miles from the junction with Route 123 (where Old Stoddard Road is called Bailey Brook Road) and 3 miles from Nelson village. Parking is limited, and carpooling is encouraged. Registration is requested, to help us with our planning.

What to bring

Bring water, thick work gloves, and loppers or hand pruners, and be prepared for biting insects.

Youth Instructions

Youth volunteers are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
