AMC’s Guyot Campsite, in the Pemigewasset Wilderness (White Mountains), is looking for new Information Volunteers to volunteer two weekends each summer. Information Volunteers assist the staff caretaker in welcoming backpackers, orienting them to the facility, and sharing information about nearby trails, weather conditions, and backcountry safety. To access Guyot Campsite, volunteers need to hike in 6+ miles on trails.

Essential qualifications: recent experience backpacking in the White Mountains, a friendly personality, and the ability to communicate well with hikers from all backgrounds and all levels of camping experience. Additionally, volunteers must be at least 18 years old, fully vaccinated for COVID, and pass a criminal background check.

Schedule, Training, and Time Commitment: volunteer two weekends (Friday evening through Sunday morning) during the summer season, between July 1st and Labor Day. Training on Sunday, May 1st is required.
