About the Event

Whether you’re new to easement monitoring or just want to brush up on your field skills, join us for a half day workshop to learn the ins and outs of easement monitoring in the field. Led my Emma Tutein and Sara Callaghan from UNH Extension with help from Janice Mulherin from Pemi-Baker Land Trust, we will spend the majority of this training practicing:

  • following a boundary line using a survey map and compass;
  • what to look for and document while monitoring;
  • how to manage tricky situations;
  • and more!

This workshop will be outside with no facilities (facilities will be available initially at our meeting location). We will me meeting at the Quincy Bog Natural Area before traveling to a nearby easement. The outside time will include time in the woods, off trail, on uneven and moderately challenging terrain.

Essential Eligibility Criteria: Participants must be able to traverse uneven terrain for a distance of up to 2 miles independently, or with the assistance of a companion.

Space is limited in this workshop.

Cost: In order to ensure this program is accessible for all, there are three registration fee options - $5, $15, $25. Please pay what you can.

* *If you had registered for a field session we had scheduled for earlier this year but could not attend, please email Charlotte (charlotte.thompson@unh.edu) for a code to waive the registration fee.

This workshop is hosted in collaboration with the Pemi Baker Land Trust.

We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals to engage fully. If you need an accommodation to participate in our programming, please contact Charlotte Thompson, charlotte.thompson@unh.edu or (603) 862-1572 prior to the event. Given ample time, we will make any reasonable effort to meet your needs, including language access services if requested, which will be provided free of charge.
