About the Event

Join us for a day of talks highlighting recent research, and plans for future study, on the ecology of Norway Pond in Hancock. Topics will include what we learned from our first season of citizen science cyanobacteria monitoring in 2019, how pond sediments can help us understand the pond’s evolving ecosystem and historic past, and what we’re learning about the glacial formation of the pond and surrounding terrain 14,500 years ago. We’ll also share our plans for a citizen science event - Norway Pond BioBlitz - slated for the summer of 2020. Snow date: March 7. Please bring a bag lunch. Co-sponsored by the Harris Center for Conservation Education and the Norway Pond Commission.

What to bring
