About the Event

Come join us at the Cuvilly Arts & Earth Center and learn how to remove turf grass! This will be an educational workday, so prepare to do some digging!

Cuvilly Arts & Earth Center has developed a curriculum called Landscaping for Biodiversity based off the book “Natures Best Hope” by Doug Tallamy. We would like to educate as many people as possible on how to create beautiful landscapes that promote the health of our native wildlife and insects! The first step of this process is getting rid of our green grass that everyone knows and loves but is detrimental to our ecosystems.

In this workshop we will introduce you to this curriculum, give a short presentation as to why we are doing what we are doing, and give you the links so you can access it at any time on your own device. Finally, we will get outside and teach you how to remove turf grass so beneficial gardens can be planted!

What to bring

Bring closed toe shoes and clothes that you can comfortably work in. Snacks and a reusable water bottle are also a good idea! Tools and gloves will be provided.

Youth Instructions

We ask that all volunteers are over the age of 14. We operate as a preschool so we can provide childcare if needed. If you need someone to watch your child, please email me at cuvilly.lauren@gmail.com.
