About the Event

The Newmarket Conservation Commission recently completed a Forest Management Plan for the town's 33-acre Heron Point Sanctuary bordering the scenic Lamprey River with a view across to downtown Newmarket. Among other things, the Plan recommends improvements to trail treads and some trail re-routes to prevent erosion and improve visitor experience.

On this workday we will add gravel (hardback) to the trail from the parking area to a large observation platform to create an accessible trail for all. In addition to learning some trail techniques, you will learn about Heron Point, which was slated for a large subdivision in the 1980s. No experience necessary.
