About the Event

Every spring, juvenile American eels, also known as glass eels, start migrating from the ocean to our coastal rivers throughout NH. Coastal Research Volunteers partner with NH Fish and Game to collect data on the annual upstream migration, and we are looking for new volunteers to join! During this event, you learn about these amazing fish, their mysterious life cycle, and participate in a hands-on training. Trained eel monitoring volunteers are able to sign up to fill daily eel monitoring shifts throughout the spring. No experience is necessary. Come see--and feel--what an eel is all about!

Accessibility: Participation in this project sometimes requires walking on steep and uneven slopes.

What to bring

Please dress for the weather. All training materials will be provided.
