About the Event

The leaves are changing color and the days are getting shorter. It's time to wrap up another summer season on Squam and prepare for the long winter ahead! Bring your friends and family and help us tackle our fall to-do list!

We will provide breakfast and coffee/tea from 8:30am to 9am. Please pack your own lunch and we will supply some snacks for the day. We'll end the day with a cookout for dinner at 5pm and a volunteer appreciation event to celebrate!

There will be various tasks to complete throughout the day.

  • Yard work (raking, invasive removal, trash pick-up)
  • Island campsite clean-ups
  • Moving firewood
  • Dock removals
  • Trail maintenance on islands
  • Putting away summer equipment and supplies
  • Pulling in swim-lines

There will be bathrooms available wherever you are volunteering, out on the islands or at the SLA headquarters.

What to bring

Pack your own lunch, we will provide some additional snacks. Please come prepared with weather appropriate clothing and things you don't mind getting dirty. Bring work gloves if you have them, but we can also provide some. Please bring sunglasses and sunscreen. If you are interested in pulling in swim-lines, please bring a bathing suit/clothes you don't mind getting wet, as well as a change of clothes for after.

Youth Instructions

All children must be accompanied by an adult. Each participant must fill out a registration form.
