About the Event
Celebrate Earth Day by giving some love to the Mountains and Lakes of New Hampshire This is a DIY cleanup challenge. We all have the best intentions, but sometimes people leave behind litter, forget a bag of dog poop, or our lunch bag blows away in the wind. When over 50,000 people visit Mt Major each year, a little bit here and there can really add up! To complete the challenge, all you have to do is show up to the Mount Major parking area. Bring your own bag or use one of ours. Take a hike and when you get to the top, have a look around the summit bushes and along the trails on your way down. Pickup any bits of litter, doggie-bags, and water bottles you may find. Challenge your kids to find 20 pieces of micro-trash When you get back to the bottom, have a look around the parking area for litter and things that have been left behind. Tie off your trash-bag first, then toss it into the back of the Forest Society truck. Pat yourself on the back because you've done a great service to the forest and lakes. The trash-truck will leave the parking lot @ 4pm, so don't be late!
