About the Event

Join us for the CMC's annual trail clearing. All ages and skill levels welcome. Raking out water bars, clipping branches, and clearing away small blowdowns so trails are passable for the thousands of hikers that enjoy the mountain each year.

Two options depending on your skill and fitness level - 1) Full day hike the mountain and enjoy the view from the summit, or 2) half day hike local conservation land trails and be home in time for an afternoon nap.

What to bring

Lunch, work gloves, your favorite hand tools such as sturdy rakes or clippers or hand saw (tools will be provided as needed), plenty of water, bug dope, first aid kit, extra socks and t-shirts (we get dirty), warm gear (tech or wool, not cotton), rain gear, a smart phone. And bring a friend, we have 5 trails to cover and we need crews of 5-7 for each. NO POWER TOOLS - its against WMNFS Rules. Meet at 9am at 'The Grove', right off of Rt. 16 (about 20m south of Conway) before the narrows bridge between Lake Chocorua and Little Lake.

Youth Instructions

CMC is a Forest Service adopter and the Saco district send a team to join us for instruction and safety supervision.
