The New London Conservation Commission is in year five of an American Chestnut Restoration project. We presently have eighty seedlings in the ground and have scheduled a work day to plant additional seedlings and strengthen those already growing. The Conservation Commission is very pleased to have the support and participation of the The American Chestnut Foundation for this project. Our work day will include planting, weeding, mulching, cage-building and a barbecue. We welcome volunteers to join us in this endeavor. The first job site is across the street from the Park and Ride at Clark Lookout. RSVP requested.
