About the Event

In April 2023, we had our first big volunteer clean-up event in Piscataquog River Park. We removed over 3 tons of trash and cut roundleaf bittersweet from an acre of the park. It was such a great success, we’d love to do it again!

Join the Friends of Piscataquog River Park and Manchester Parks and Recreation for our 2024 Spring Clean-up Extravaganza! Our clean-up will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 9 am to 1 pm. We are looking for volunteers to help pick up trash and remove invasive species, along with other tasks to improve the park.

Coffee and snacks will be provided in the morning, along with lunch after the work day. This is a free event and a small training will be provided at the beginning. We encourage you to invite your family and friends, but please leave your furry friends at home since we'll be using sharp tools. We will also be working off-trail and on uneven terrain, which may be difficult for those with mobility or balance issues. Come help us improve the park and make it a place for all to enjoy!

What to bring

Tools, gloves, and food will be provided, but please bring: - a water bottle to fill at our water station - appropriate footwear and clothing to be outside and off-trail for a few hours - sun and/or rain protection (depending on the weather)

Youth Instructions

All volunteers under 18 will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
