Northeast Trailworks
Northeast Trailworks, LLP, was created in 2023 to capitalize on Glen Gollrad's and David Alden St. Pierre's years of experience.
David Alden-St.Pierre has been on the City of Beverly’s Open Space and Recreation Committee for nearly 10 years, and Chair of the Committee since 2020. Working within the municipality he has helped build and maintain nearly 20 miles of trails in parks and other outdoor spaces within the city. Additionally, for the summer of 2023, he was a trail steward for The Trustees of Reservation, the “nation’s first and Massachusetts’ largest preservation and conservation nonprofit,” reclaiming unmaintained trails on Moraine Farm, a former Frederick Law Olmsted property. He also worked for the Town of Ipswich as the Open Space Protection Manager and served on Beverly's Conservation Commission. He's an FAA licensed drone pilot, MA licensed machine operator (mini excavator, skid steer), and has a Trails Specialist Certificate from Northwest Arkansas Community College.
Glen Gollrad has worked on a number of trail designs, construction, and rebuilds in various terrain, various jurisdictions, and various soil / ecology types since 2001. Projects range from the primitive backcountry hiking, mountain biking, and equestrian use in the Santa Fe and Carson National Forests, to the relatively new Topsfield Linear Common, where he has been a volunteer with the group since 2009, helping with drainage work, invasive species management, structure design and general upkeep. His extensive architectural and construction backgrounds - primarily in the municipal realm, have given Glen valuable experience in all types of permitting processes and in navigating the various boards - from Planning, to Conservation Commission, to Board of Health, and so on. As an experienced project manager his abilities range from concept / visioning through design, permitting, and construction through to close out and post-project evaluations.
Both David and Glen have a certification in “Sustainable Trail Building and Stewardship for Non- Motorized Multi-Use Trails” from Northern Vermont University and have taken a 40hr “Mechanized Trail Equipment Training and Certification” course through Trails Unlimited, LLC, at a recent American Trails Symposium.
