The Friends of the Wapack are an all volunteer organization dedicated to the maintenance and protection of the Wapack Trail. Founded in 1980, the Friends of the Wapack, Inc., is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated solely to the maintenance and preservation in perpetuity of the Wapack Trail system, preservation of public access to these trails, and public education pertaining to these trails and their use. The 21.5 mile Wapack Trail, running from Mount Watatic in Ashburnham, Massachusetts, to North Pack Monadnock in Greenfield, New Hampshire, is one of the oldest interstate footpaths in the Northeast.
