Stewardship Tool Libraries

Tools in Library

We’ve heard from conservation groups all over New England that they need tools to help mobilize more volunteers. From shovels to signs, and gloves to garden rakes, our partners and volunteers need quality tools to care for lands and waters.

In partnership with the Southeast Land Trust of NH and the Upper Valley Trails Alliance, we're excited to have two libraries in New England where people can borrow tools for free, one located in Epping, NH and one in Norwich, VT. Both libraries are full of items for trail maintenance, invasive weed pulling, habitat improvement and more. We loan these without payment to conservation groups and landowners.

Some of the tools at the Seacoast library were donated by the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, with support from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Lamprey River Advisory Council. Support for the Upper Valley library was provided by USDA Forest Service State and Private Forestry Program through a Landscape Scale Restoration grant (2017).
