About the Event
The Hampton Conservation Commission is launching a water quality monitoring program for Ice Pond on Woodland Rd in Hampton. The goal is to train a small group of volunteers how to sample the water, conduct a several tests on the water and record the data. The data collected will include: · Date, time, weather, and personnel · Secchi depths (with and without viewscope) · Total pond depth · At each depth of the profile: temperature, dissolved oxygen concentration, and percent oxygen saturation · Any additional notes or observations · Sample bottles for total phosphorus and total nitrogen Sampling materials and tools will be provided. Regularly collecting this data will help us make informed decisions about the management of the area. We are looking for a set group of people who could commit to doing this monitoring four times a year on mutually agreed upon days. Join us on June 18th to kick off the program!
