About the Event

The NH Coverts Project is a training program for volunteers from a wide range of organizations, including local conservation commissions, land trusts, federal agencies, and more. We are looking for those volunteering on behalf of NH's forests and wildlife who want to learn more about the natural world and how they can make a difference. Twenty-five individuals will attend the 2020 workshop, scheduled for May 13-16 in Greenfield, NH. All program expenses are covered by sponsors, NH Fish & Game and UNH Cooperative Extension. Successful applicants pay only a $50 registration fee for three nights of food and lodging, conference materials, and fun!

Since the start of the program in 1995, over 400 people from throughout New Hampshire have completed the workshop and become Coverts volunteers. These volunteers have returned to their communities and hosted tours on their property, conserved land, managed their property for wildlife habitat, delivered wildlife presentations, joined conservation commissions, written articles for newspapers and magazines, staffed exhibits, initiated natural resource inventories, worked on community conservation projects, and much more. If you are a stewardship volunteer or someone who works with volunteers, please consider the NH Coverts Project workshop as an exciting, worthwhile training opportunity.

How to Apply: Applications are now available for download, and the deadline for receiving applications is March 1, 2020. Click the button below to visit UNH Extension to apply or learn More.
